Lasang Pinoy is in a celebratory mood with the First Christmas Edition of its monthly Pinoy Food Blogging Event.

The word Pasko [Christmas] conjures up a thousand meanings to Pinoys [Filipinos] as well as to other people all over the world. In the Philippines, also known as the “Land of Fiesta”, Pinoys have a rich Yuletide tradition and they have found a myriad of ways in expressing joy and gratitude during this festive season. It is also believed to be the longest unofficial Christmas anywhere in the world.

Mike at LAFANG, is honoured to host this month’s event aptly themed, PINOY CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD.

Lasang Pinoy 4: It's All Pinoy Soul Food

For November, Lasang Pinoy talks about the wide range of Filipino food that we cook again and again not only for their incomparable flavor, but also because they feed a hunger deep in our very being: a longing for home, a pining for family, a yearning for the company of people who have since passed on, or a simple need to remember the past. We may not have a word for it like the African Americans do, but there is sucn a thing as Pinoy Soul Food.
